This course is designed for people who have a desire to live together with other people, and are unclear on how to start, how to find like minded people, how to set things up so that it has chances of actually happening.

We build on our experience of setting things up and living at The Hollies and on what we know from other communities around the world. We have often been approached by people who – like ourselves about 20 years ago – are unhappy with the models that mainstream society is offering us. However, the desire to live in community often comes with fears and uncertainties, and the common perception that most attempts fail on the ‘human factor’ We believe that we have a lot to share. On this course we will explore:

• Community – what’s in it for you?

• visions and mission statements

• economics

• decision making

• agreements and the secrets of getting on with each other

• essential advanced communication skills

• turning inevitable conflicts into building community

• working together and sharing tools

• co-parenting on a community level

• property – to buy or not to buy…and other practicalities
