Clay and Straw Construction, also known as Light Clay Straw- or Spaghetti Building is a Natural house-building technique that combines timber-framing with an infill of straw mixed with a clay-slip which is packed into a shutter and left to dry. This technique is fast and creates a breathable, highly insulating wall.
This is a 1 day introductory course in which you will learn how to design for clay-and-straw structures, where and how to get the correct clay, how to mix it with straw and how to fill the wall with the mix.
