These interactive talks introduce conflict resolution skills that don’t systematically form part of Irish teacher training yet. These skills are an important addition to the skills set of educators.
Thomas Riedmuller works together with Drumcondra Education Centre to help teachers up-skill themselves. He has delivered teacher trainings in connection with the SALT-programme which was developed for Primary Schools by Fiona McAuslan with whom he works together.
Thomas is now writing a new Secondary School SPHE curriculum which emphasises conflict resolution awareness and skills. In his staff talks, Thomas contributes his expertise as a mediator and conflict resolution educator to help school communities fine tune and further develop their current approaches in managing discipline, conflicts, bullying and other challenging dynamics. Thomas has many years experience in adult education. His teaching style avoids lecturing and strives to meet the practitioners and learners where they are at in order to value and build on their experience.
